General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are many medical conditions that can cause an altered sense of smell. It can be related to an infection such as cold, flu or a sinus infection. It can also be related to migraine or a vitamin and mineral deficiency. I suggest to do a check up and a physical examination at your doctor for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
