Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 2 year old has what appears to be a dimple a couple of inches above her anus. She s had it since she was a baby and it never seemed to cause her any problems. My mother said it was probably just a dimple but recently I ve noticed it looking a little bigger and I touched it to see if it was an actual hole and it seemed to cause her some pain. What could it be, and should I worry?
Most such dimples are simple and harmless. Very occasionally they may be pointer towards spinal cord / vertebral anomaly. Kindly get it examines by her pediatrician during next visit. Until then, no worries.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
