What Causes An Elevation In Sugar Levels After Following Balanced Diet?

I am a 40 year old female. I am 5 10 and weigh 363lbs. My doctor put me on a very restrictive Candida diet last week eliminating all sugars and carbs. I have been on the diet for 6 days and today I was suddenly not feeling well and decided to check my sugar and it was 206. This was more than 2 hours after having a breakfast of 2 eggs scrambled with tomatoes. I have never had problems with high sugar before but did sometimes have low sugar levels. I have an appointment with him tomorrow but am wondering why I would suddenly start having high blood sugar now after quitting all sugar, carbs, etc

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear Madam,
Welcome to HCM.
The simplest explanation is that because you have cut down totally on carbs your body is trying to utilize the glucose stored up in the liver. My opinion is that our diet should have a combination of carbs, proteins, fats and fiber. So cutting of one component of the diet totally is going to have some adverse effects as well. SO my suggestion would be to discuss with your physician regarding the real need for cutting out carbs completely. A small addition of carbs will reduce the glucose output from the liver.
Hope i have answered your query
