What Causes An Elevation In The Heartbeat While On Levothyroxine?

I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism in 2014. I have been on ,25MG of Levothyroxine since the diagnosis. I often have rapid heartbeat and have developed a rash that won t go away on my face running from my nostrils downward. Help, could this be from the thyroid meds??

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

No, the symptoms you described are not related to thyroid but are more likely caused by an allergic reaction.Regarding to hypothyroidism you need to check TSH level every six months in order to be sure that the dose is right.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
