What Causes An Immobile Lump Near The Neck?

Hi, I am female 44 185 lbs I have a lump on left side of my neck for four weeks now, it is not painful and doesn t move, doesn t seem to have gotten bigger over the weeks. Just a few days ago I found something at the back of my mouth on the same side , it feels like it is attached to my tongue and side of my throat. This doesn t hurt either but I can feel like a stretching in my throat when I yawn. I don t smoke, don t drink and have not had oral sex. I do have a bad tooth that has been there on the same side for quite awhile now, could this be causing the swelling and thing in my throat? Thanks so much ....

Hi,

Actually a bad tooth can kill someone. It produces a spreading infection out from the area and would have nodes. The swelling can be easily evaluated by a physician but this would require that AND also likely antibiotics prior to seeing the dentist but I cannot say in your particular case without being there.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
