What Causes An Increase In The Heart Beat?
I am a 44 year old female who recently began experiencing multiple episodes a day when my heart beat will just take off and increase in beats lasting for 20-30 seconds then I get a head rush And feel light headed. I can be sitting at my desk when this occurs . Is this something to be concerned about?

Palpitations in your case have to carefully evaluated through a baseline ecg and 24 holter ecg to rule out the presence of heart conduction blocks.Drugs beta blockers will help to reduce the incidence of palpitations.Monitor your blood pressure to avoid hypotension .Hydrate yourself adequately with 3 liters/day of water.Radiofrequency ablation will offer permanent cure.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
