What Causes An Itchy Bump With Clear Fluid In The Lower Labia?

Hello, Just last night I had a small itchy bump on the lower labia majora. I popped a small pimple like head that had clear fluid inside. No color, just clear. There were several other clear fluid bumps today in which I could pop with minimum force. It of course is now super swollen and the area feels rough to touch and has kind of a whitish patchy Center look to it. It is also super itchy. It woke me up a few times from being so itchy. It s just in one spot, and I have been with the same partner for 6 months now so there s a really small chance that it could be any std. I also have had no fever or any other symptoms, just the extreme itch last night. What could this be? And how should I treat it? I have been cleaning it with hydrogen peroxide and an antibiotic cream.

Hello,

Itchy bump in the lower labia is commonly due to ingrown hairs, infection due to shaving the genital hairs, allergies, etc. However, it can also be due to medical conditions like yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, cysts, etc. You should take care of your hygiene, do not use chemical or perfumed products in your genital area, use lubricants during sexual intercourse, use pads instead of tampons & avoid sex for a couple of days.

You can apply ointment hydrocortisone in the area affected for relieve, do not touch, scratch or pick it. Cold compress and sitz bath may help. Cysts do not always require treatment, sometimes, they need surgical drainage or removal by surgery. Yeast infection is treated with antifungals per vaginal or oral depending on the condition. However, you are suggested to get STD tests done to rule out contact dermatitis, herpes, etc & to stay on the safer side.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
