I am 14 weeks pregnant and I have never had a problem with my bellybutton. During my pregnancy it has been great; nice and easy however I have an odor coming from my bellybutton and is really strong. I am going to visit the doctor but I need to know if I can do anything to stop it or if I can wash it differently? Please help not sure what to do and I feel weird around my husband!

Hello dear,i understand your concern. In my opinion the eversion of belly button occurs in pregnancy. So the dirt deep inside might get exposed leading to bad odour.Wash it with scented soap and remove any dirt if there.Apply moisturizer. It is a non specific symptom and nothing serious about it.It will subside.Scented deodarants can also be applied.
Best regards...Dr.Srilatha
