What Causes Anal Opening Pain While Passing Pink/red Tissue In Stools?

I have been passing stool with a fair amount of pain eminating from the left side of my anal opening. The pain radiates up in to my anus as well, and doesn t stop. I also am periodically passing what appear to be chunks of pink/red tissue with every other or so bowel movement. What s going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an anal fissure.

I recommend avoiding constipation by using stool softeners.

I also recommend drinking a lot of liquids.

If the pain continues I recommend seeing a proctologist for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
