Hi ! I just went to my G.I. doctor yesterday to discuss with hin that the Linzess is not working for my IBS-C. He said I do not have Chron s or IBD. MY Colonoscopy in May 2017 was normal and I have no anal fissures or hemorrhoids. However , the doctor said he noticed tightness in the anl area. My stool is either very soft or thin, or watery but my anus hurts nearly eyery day. Even with this medicine I feel the urge toi go but it wont come without me taking an enema (Not Fleet but the bag). He just instructed me to start with 2 ducolax or biscodyl with the Linzess , so I ll start that tomorrow. I don t have abdominal pain or anything else . Just my bowels can t go on their own without the Enemao and the anal soreness. Please help me with any suggestons Thank You, Sharlene
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Local causes of fissure and hemorrhoid are rules out along with Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) pattern ; so I would like to put it under the stress induced condition with partly contribution by gut flora mechanics disturbances. Still a detailed case analysis is recommended to reach at the root level and provide management.
Hope this information will help you. Take care! Regards, Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
