I have finally booked a doctors appointment for this Monday to get it sorted but I am getting worried. Thanks
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Pile or fissure in ano can be diagnosed only by per-rectal digital examination and ano-proctoscopy. Hence you trouble like pain while passing wind, and piles should be diagnosed by an appropriate examination to know the exact diagnosis so that an appropriate management can be done. It is good that you have taken an appointment with you Doctor, get examination done if available with your Doctor or get a referral for a Specialist. Till then do the following: Stop using any local ointments. Sitz bath in a tub with warm water. Laxatives if there is passage of hard stools. Reduce stress and anxiety. Send samples of stool and blood for lab tests. Final treatment will depend upon the final diagnosis thus made.
