What Causes Anxiety And Pounding Heart Rate After Taking Gildess Fe?
I am on my second month of Gildess Fe birth control. This past week I have noticed I am incredibly anxious, my heart is pounding constantly, I am very irritable, and crying easily. Should I stop taking this birth control? I already have high anxiety due to some extenuating life circumstances. My periods have been unbearable but I do not want to feel like this. Thank you

General & Family Physician, Dr. Sirisha's Response
This is a combined pill that contains estrogen and progesterone. If use of this is causing changes in mood or exaggerating preexisting mood changes it is better you consult your treating dr who after physical examination and some appropriate investigations may suggest you to stop this and alternate method of birth control.when you are taking pills you need to monitor your BP constantly as these pills may cause increase of BP. low salt, low fat balanced diet, regular exercise ,adequate amounts of water intake are all required especially when one is practising pill method of birth control.these are harmone tablets which are double edged sword for our health which you better stop under gyn drs guidance.
