What Causes Area Around Nail To Turn White With Blisters On It?
i woke up this morning and there was area on the side of my finger which was white in color which small area around nail hurt just mildly. Since that time approximately 4 hours ago, the pain has significantly got worse and a half inch painful blister has appeared in length. This suddenly is quite painful and my entire finger when I squezz the bone at the bottom of the finger feels tight inside. i live in south scottsdale arizona where scorpian bites are much less popular than up in North Scottsdale next to the desert. Is this a spider bite in your opinion? If so which one? or Could this be a scorpian Bite? or something else? Thank You Brian Deangelo YYYY@YYYY
After reading your query it appears taht you have got secondary infection in the nail which is known as "Acute paronychia".
It is a bacterial infection of the nail fold and appears as a whitish bead like structure with pain and tenderness in it.
In my patients with such a problem I generally prefer to give a course of antibiotics such as Amoxicillin wiht calvulinic acid in proper dose. A pain killer tablet such as ibuprofen or diclofenac is of much help in alleviating pain.
Keep you hand above your heart level so that there should be least of pain due to pooling of blood.
All the best.
