What Causes Area Under Abs To Be Hard And Firm After Surgery?
I had abdominal surgury 6 wks ago to remove a large mass which turned out to be a fibroid. I how have a ridge of fat above the incision,, the insicion itself is closed and not ozing, but it is hard and firm, and the center area of my lower abs are hard and ridgelike. what is going on? why is it so hard and why is there a ridge? will this go away? when? I should note that prior to surgury, i was 113 lbs and 5 5 . i am now 111 lbs,
Thanks for your query. Hard ridge is formed because of fibrosis of the stitched part. It is not to be worried about at all. It occurs in many cases. But it is not a complicated thing. WEIGHT loss is significant . LOOK for your diet and have balanced diet. It will get well soon by itself. Don't worry. Get welll soon . Take care. God bless you.
