General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Nexplanon insertion can cause some soreness for a day or two. Ibuprofen or other over-the-counter pain relievers, and cold packs, can reduce pain and swelling. You may have some swelling, bruising, or discoloration for up to two weeks. It will go away gradually so don't worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
