What Causes Arms To Become Blue And Stiff After Blood Is Drawn?
hi, i m siti.. last 5 days i had draw blood for blood screening..after that my arm become bluish , stiffness, cannot be straight properly my arm because it so hurt.. the bluish is untill my upper arm. why this happen? before this i not have this ..even i walk its still pain and i have to hold my arm to immobilize..
Some red-blue-dark discolouration is common after blood drawing and suggests hematoma/sub cutaneous bleeding, and need not be worried. But if this is associated with significant pain and stiffness, there is chance of this getting secondary infection, and needs antibiotic treatment. Kindly see your doctor without delay, so as to avoid progressing to cellulitis.
Meanwhile, you can take paracetamol/ibuprofen for pain relief.
