What Causes Arrhythmia With Increased Heart Beats?

I recently had an episode of arrythmia a fortnight ago, and each time I have a cigarette now I can feel my heart beat increase (which is normal), but I can see my heart beat in my stomach now. I am of a slender build, but never remember seeing this happen before.

Hi,

Smoking may cause elevation of heart rate due to nicotine act on the heart. Other possibilities panic attacks, hyperthyroidism or anxiety or electrolyte imbalance or anaemia etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid caffeinated drinks, smoking, alcohol intake. Do yoga and meditation regularly, use tablet Propranolol once daily for five days.

If symptoms not improved please consult your Cardiologist/physician they will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
