What Causes Asymmetry In The Throat After A Tonsillectomy?

Hi. I am 27 and had a tonsillectomey at age 12. My throat does not look symmetrical and the side that hangs down and is lower has a white area on it with what looks like a hole going through it.. It gives me discomfort and im not sure if this is normal or not.. Any insite you could give me would be greatley appreciated.

Little asymmetry is common after tonsillectomy.

But possible causes for asymmetric pharyngeal wall is abscess or ulcers or cranial nerve 9 and 10 palsy or infections or tumors etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Please consult your ENT specialist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
