What Causes Baby To Exhibit Quivering Lip Before And While Eating?

What are your thoughts on a 15 month old who exhibits a quivering lip before and while eating. It s to the point that I have to wait for it to subside in order to give her another bite. It generally lasts 5-6 seconds. I have tried applying pressure on the upper lip (as suggested by an o.t.) but that only helps for a moment. Thanks.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Brief answer:
Could be habitual or calcium deficiency.

Detailed answer:
Hi, welcome to HCM.
Quivering of lips at feeding time in 15 months age is usually habitual but it can also occur due to calcium deficiency. If it's habitual then you have to counsel the child repeatedly. Also, you need to do calcium and phosphate levels in child. Further treatment will depend on above report.
Wishing you child good health. Take care.
