What Causes Back Pain And Headache After Taking Hydrocodone?

I took prescribed dose of 15 ml of liquid hydrocodone acetaminophen 7.5-325/15ml 5 hrs ago for severe headache and lower back pain. Within 30 mins started feeling light headed and nausea set in shortly after. Reread bottle and found that it had expired 2 months ago. Instructions were to take every 6 hrs as needed. Shouldn t it be wearing off by now? Have thrown up 4 seperate Times since taking and head still feels like I m drunk.

Hello,

I do not think that the fact that the drug was expired caused the symptoms, generally, manufacturers calculate drugs to be effective and safe for at least another 6 months past the expiry date, shouldn't be the cause.

If related to the drugs it is a case of side effect, not the expiration date. In any case, the duration doesn't go beyond a maximum of 8 hours, so the effect of the medication should disappear soon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
