I am 60 years old, hysterectomy 25 yrs ago. I have had a vaginal discharge with a terrible odor for 2 years after having a cyst removed. I can t remember what they called the cyst, but they had ruptured the cyst 2 times and it kept coming back until they finally went in an removed it. The discharge and odor never changed after the surgery and I have just tolerated because there was no pain. In the last 7 months, I have developed lower back pain and will sometimes go 3 days without a bowel movement, which intensifies the back pain. Once I finally have a bowel movement, back pain completely subsides. My stools have been very loose in between these episodes - all of which my be unrelated to the vaginal discharge. Now (in the last 2 months) I have developed bloating, excessive foul odor gas beyond normal flatulence. Additionally, I lost 40 pounds effortlessly in 7 months which I needed to loose but at any other time I would have struggled to loose 5 pounds. What could possibly be going on? Do I go to my gynecologist or have a colonoscopy?
