I am 25 weeks pregnant and had a threatening miscarriage at 7 weeks. I have been doing well except for having a recurring vaginal infection. A few days ago I started having lower abdominal pains which lasted for 12 hours. Shortly afterwards I starting having back pains when I stood up. My gynae prescribed utrogen pills to be taken for a month orally. I am scared of taking them as the pain has stopped without me taking any medication plus the leaflet says it s not safe in second trimester pregnancy and does not necessarily reduce pre-term labour. I doubt I was in pre-term labour as I had no bleeding or vaginal discharge. Please help!
welcome... vaginal infection is the common cause of preterm labour..
pain before 37 weeks during pregnancy is preterm labour... leaking or bleeding is not the criteria for preterm labour... exAMINATION AND SONOGRAPHY FOR CERVICAL LENGTH WILL DIAGNOSE PRETERM LABOUR..
SO AVOID INFECTION AND CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIETELY IF PAIN OCCURS TO RULE OUT PRETERM LABOUR.. THANKS
