Since i ve gotten the Depo shot ive noticed bright red blood spottin one time every couple weeks a foul odor during intercourse and without occasionaly and orangish/brown discharge after spotting but it come n goes the spotting is not bad the odor is more of a concern is this caused by the shot if so since im very limited what i can take for birth control, is there anything i can do? Please help this is a total turn off to my boyfriend. What can i do??
Hi, The odour during intercourse could be due to several reasons like vaginal discharge mixed with seminal fluid, forgotten retained tampon, vaginitis and improper hygiene. A clinical exam is needed to evaluate. It cannot be due to the contraceptive injection. Irregular menstrual pattern is seen subsequent to the depo-shot many-a-time. Please maintain proper genital hygiene, do not use strong soap solutions to wash the soft parts; you can use a mild antiseptic instead. Use sanitary napkins and avoid using tampons. Get a smear and swab if needed and get proper treatment. Hope this helps.
