HI, I was told by my Dr. a couple of months ago that I have Alopecia Areata. Basically I have never had a full beard stubble (probably an even 80%) but over last 6 months more or less all of upper lip and half of chin has gradually just disappeared (plus started noticing small patches on neck). Skin is so smooth and it s now at the point where I m getting fed up with it all. The other hair on my face is fine and grows quick. I have 2 or 3 bald patches on body, where again the skin is completely smooth. Could this be a skin infection of some kind instead of Alopecia? Look forward to receiving some advise. Thanks in advance.
