Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
The bald spot that you have got on your scalp is
Alopecia Areata (AA).
AA classically presents with bald spot(s) on the scalp; other body areas like beard, mustache, eyebrows etc may also be affected.
It has an autoimmune etiology, all or most of the hair in the affected patch are prematurely driven into telogen(resting) phase under the influence of secretary products of lymphocytes.
All the telogen hair is then shed leaving behind a bald spot. The spot may increase in size or new spots may appear over e period of time.
In a lot many cases new hair regrows over a period of time, however, most patients desire treatment because of cosmetic concerns.
Intralesional injections of
triamcinolone acetonide is the most accepted treatment modality.
Other treatment modalities include topical
minoxidil and topical potent steroids.
There are no approved
home remedies though people try various topical irritants like onion juice etc but these are no recommended and may cause more harm rather than good by irritating the skin.
I suggest you to visit a
dermatologist for the needful.
