Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I'm a 60 year old man and I just wet my bed for the first time since I was a child. I woke up in the middle of the night soaking wet. I did have a large glass of water last night just before going to bed, and I did have coffee after dinner which is something I rarely do. Interestingly I went for my annual prostate exam on Thursday, and my doctor said it felt totally normal and that i was emptying my bladder completely. I'm really stressed out over this. I am 5'8 and weigh 150 lbs. Work out regular, stay fit. I just don't know ...
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Single episode of bed wetting should not be so worrisome. 2. Coffee induced diuresis, excessive fatigue, disturbed sleep, stress, etc could have caused it. 3. As there are no local problems, and there is no urinary incontinence, not to worry. 4. One possibility, that can be thought of is urinary tract infection. Get urine examination done. If normal, a one off episode. Not to worry. Avoid more fluids after 6 pm. During daytime, take adequate hydration. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
