What Causes Bending Of A Baby S Penis To Left?

I have a 2 1/2 month old baby boy. I have noticed during changing him that when his penis is erect, it bends significantly to the left. If I had to guess its close or more than 45 degrees. He is circumsized. Is this normal? will it eventually even out? If not, what steps must be taken to fix it if possible. Thanks, Robert

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

I need to clarify whether it's rotated to left or bending of the shaft to left. The former is called penile torsion and the late is called chordee. Rotation has only cosmetic issue and surgical correction needed only for rotation> 60 degrees. Chordee, if significant can interfere with sexual intercourse alter and hence better corrected surgically- you can approach a urologist or pediatric surgeon

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
