It is known as Genu Valgum and it is a deformity of the knee joint. It can be due to either a defect in bone since birth. It can be due to vitamin D deficiency. Rarely it can be due to trauma. So first your doctor needs to find out the cause . Then treatment can be done accordingly. Mostly I think that your son might need a small surgery so that bone stops growing in abnormal fashion. Also some time a bone cutting procedure is needed to correct the deformity. I would also suggest you to not delay this treatment any more as it may cause bone to mature and then surgery is more and more difficult and bed rest is needed for longer time.
