Hi, I am 49 y.o female with relapse remitting MS. Disease is stable now. Have been experiencing bilateral hip numbness, sometimes pain and right groin nervy pain at night. Symptoms have been keeping me up and not remedied with Ibuprofen or Tylenol. I exercise 3-4 times/week and very active. ?thoughts? Thanks, JC
I think there a variety of possibilities such as vascular and certainly neurological having to do with your MS. Impossible to say on the sole basis of this information but an examination and some diagnostic testing could be telling if you could get it done. Obviously, it would be preferable to find the root cause and treat that entity but if not there are medications that may be more beneficial if it is truly neuropathic pain you are having aside from what you're taking. As a neurologist, I'd be happy to help you with this problem in more detail..
