Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i went to the toilet 3 times now... on the first it there were a lot... then on the 2nd time there were only small amounts of stool, i noticed i had a small amount of black and flaky stool. And on the third it was a small amount too, but i noticed it was kind of flaky just like the second time.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Different types of stool are known to occur as in your case were black, flaky and varied consistency. Black indicates the possibility of bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract and hence the following should be done: Send the sample of stool including for occult blood for three consecutive days. Upper GI Endoscopy. Colonoscopy. Tests of blood for CBC, bleeding, clotting and prothrombine time. Any other tests as per requirement on clinical evaluation and examination by your Doctor or a Gastroenterologist. Management will obviously be dependent upon hte results and reports and clinical evaluation.
