What Causes Black Area Inside The Lip Of A Child After A Fall?

My 21 month old son fell and bit the inside of his lip on the bottom so hard that there is now a gash inside the lower lip and the flesh inside the mouth is hanging off and has turned white. There is also some black right where the deepest part of the bite is. Should i be concerned that it is infected?

Hi.. You need not worry. Any gash or ulcer inside the mouth will turn white when soaked with saliva. Do not worry. Unless there is fever and bad smell emanating from the mouth, you need not worry. You can use ZYTEE gel for application over the gash. it will heal well.
