What Causes Black Dots On The Biceps?

Hi, I am Asian Indian women and whenver I am in USA I have red blackish dots only on my biceps. How do I prevent this or take care of this problem. When I was in India past Jaurary my small back red dots were not there. Please let me know and I have noticed lot of Indian girls/guy have this problem.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

These spots could be a sign of keratosis pilaris where the roots of the hair follicles thicken due to the tiny muscle around the root of the hair.
Also it could be sun spots due to sun exposure.
I suggest you wear sunscreen regularly at least 20 mins before stepping out and reapply after 3-4 hours.
