What Causes Black Spots On The Neck, Arms And Legs?

My brother age 74 started getting black spots and patches of black on neck arms legs and l think back last December two Went to his house and took a sample what he told me was they said it was a form of aggressive cancer no cure .Cancer doesn’t run in my family .Can you tell me more about it thankyou

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history your brother is having seborrheic keratosis.
My treatment advice is -

1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with spf more than 30.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Only curative treatment is cryotherapy or cauterization done by a dermato-surgeon.
