What Causes Black Stool?

I noticed my ( poop ) was dark , half liquid form almost black / green in colour. That was the 2nd time I went to the bathroom today , the first one was a normal healthy looking dump . I am just wondering what could have caused the second one to be so nasty?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The black stool came to be caused by bleeding in the upper portion of your digestive system.
I suggest an endoscopy and a visit to a gastrologist for further examination and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
