What Causes Bladder Infection After A Hypertrophy?
Hi Doctor,My urology Dr. perform the my bladder exam for hypertrophy of the prostate and Dr. did not give me an antibiotic treatment and I got bladder infection because of that. The Dr. said that just follow the medical guide line but the patient point of view I gone thru very painful medical procedure. After infection started Dr. gave me an antibiotic prescription.I thought Dr.give a antibiotic treatment to prevent the infection.Please advise. Thank you sir.
Hello and welcome to HCM. As an Urologist, it's not clear , which test you have under gone. I assume you're meaning a cystoscopy test, where an endoscopy is done to look inside your bladder directly through the urinary tube. As it's done with sedation, you may not have made out an antibiotic injection given.As it's done under local anesthesia, you may feel some pain. Following the test, usually antibiotic is given only if, there's an infection. Don't worry. Your symptoms will reduce very soon.
