What Causes Bleeding After 2 Weeks Of Stopping Birth Control Pills?

I quit taking my birth control pills a little over a month ago. I have had a period about every 2 weeks since I quit. Before birth control I had normal periods. Is it normal for it to happen every 2 weeks? And will it eventually normal out to once a month again?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question. Having periods every 2 weekly is not normal. Stopping birth control pills do not alter the periods in women who previously had normal periods.I would suggest you to consult your OBGYN specialist as you need proper internal examination done. Investigations like ultrasound, thyroid function test and if needed, endometrial biopsy may be required to find the cause and get treated effectively.
Hope this answers your question.
Wishing you good health.
