Hi, I am 16 and am on the birth control Trinessa. About 2 months ago I had sex with my boyfriend and soon after started bleeding heavily, I have since then kept bleeding and my boyfriend and I have had sex a few times. Whats wrong? And should we stop having sex?
A virgin has got a delicate membrane on the opening of vagina. It is called as Hymen. During first few intercourses, hymen gets torn causing bleeding. If it is getting gradually torn due to partial insertions of penis, the bleeding will be associated with few attempts of intercourses. There is nothing to worry about it.
However, if the bleeding is alarming and/or uncontrollable, please report to your Gynaecologist to rule out any serious underlying pathology.
I hope, you have got the clarification.
