What Causes Bleeding Before Normal Period's Due Date?
Hello, I was wondering about implantation bleeding. I am 9 dpo and felt a little cramping last night and a couple big cramps today. I felt wet and went to the bathroom to clean up and to my surprise saw blood! I am not due for my period for 6 days and have normal 28 day cycles. I was however sick this month with what felt like the flu, but was still very actively trying to conceive. Could the flu have brought my period on early or is this implantation?
Hello, Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. In the current scenario, it is possible that the viral infection may have resulted in the early period/spotting. Implantation bleeding is observed around the expected period, is a fresh bleed and usually mild and observed for a couple of days. To clarify, you can get the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres. A sonogram of the pelvis, preferably in the trans-vaginal route, performed a week after the expected period, should you miss it, clarifies the situation further. Further management can be planned accordingly. Take bed rest, do not exert and see your health care provider for further help. Take care.
