What Causes Bleeding During Non Penetrative Sex?

I havent had my period in longer then a month probably six weeks. I have been exercising a lot lately. My Boyfriend fingered me and i started bleeding. it wasnt a lot. Can it be my period? is it possible that my period cycle has changed. Why did I bleed?

Thanks for writing in.

Bleeding due to periods is different from bleeding due to fingering. Fingering by your boy friend can cause injury to sensitive mucosa lining the vaginal wall. When injured it can bleed a lot but this blood is usually fresh blood and stops in a few minutes to hours. The period blood is more likely to be in clot and persists over a day or two and is continuous through the day.

Please ask your partner to clip his nails , be gentle and use a water based lubricant when you would like sexual stimulation by fingering.
