What Causes Bleeding During The Pregnancy?

Hi I am 5 weeks pregnant and had a bleed last week, got bloods took on the Tuesday and then again on the Thursday and my doctor said I was in a healthy pregnancy as my hormone level had went up by well over a 1000, but since last Tuesday I m still bleeding is this ok?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Spotting in early pregnancy can be seen due to causes like increased blood supply to local genital structures, growing gestational sac damaging the surrounding vessels, bleeding on expected date of periods, impending miscarriage etc.
Usually minimal spotting can subside soon.
If spotting persists and pain abdomen occurs better to consult your doctor once and get examined.
By examination and ultrasound the possible cause of the problem can be identified and treated.
