What Causes Bleeding From Penis While Urinating?

I am asking a question about my husband, tonight he had a sudden bleed from his penis while he was urinating, there is no pain and he has not suffered from this before, I am a bit worried, he is in his eighties but very active what is the best thing to do, as it is Saturday tomorrow the surgery's are closed.

Your concern is understandable.
Blood in urine is abnormal. To know the source of the bleeding, go straight away, to the ER / casualty dept. of the nearest hospital.
Usual tests done are urine routine and culture, blood routine ,kidney function test, PSA, sugar and an ultrasound scan of abdomen.
According to the reports, doctor will advise the proper treatment.
