Thank you for the query.
I would like to enquire about your age, gender and whether you suffer from any comorbidities like
diabetes mellitus. I would also like to ask whether you had any associated pain in the loin/groin region when you passed blood with urine.
The symptoms you have mentioned are in favour of a UTI (burning sensation,
frequent urination, blood in urine). The question is that why are you having recurrent UTI? In females one of the commonest cause of UTI is Diabetes mellitus. Hence a blood sugar screen is recommended (if not done already). An
ultrasonography of the lower abdomen may help to check for increased residual urinary volume, which may be a cause of frequent UTIs.
Renal stones can also be screened by this method (since they can cause similar symtpoms).
In males, a common cause of UTI is
prostatomegaly (USG helps to rule this out).
I would advise you to go for a urine routine examination and culture sensitivity. A direct examination of the
urinary bladder is done at times (
cystoscopy), to rule out any bladder pathology. Personal hygiene is important to prevent frequent UTIs. Drink enough fluid. Please do visit your physician for a thorough check-up, since you may need some further investigations and management accordingly. A course of higher antibiotics may be needed for frequent UTIs.
Hope this helps you out.
