What Causes Blister Marks On Arm After BBL Treatment?

I received a BBL treatment on my arms about 9 days ago. They blistered. I was told to put petroleum jelly on the blisters until they went down (which they did after 3 days). Now I have the scabbing/brown marks all over. How long until these flake off? When I had BBL before on the face (with no blistering) the dark spots came off much quicker....
