What Causes Blisters In The Ear After Piercing?

so i pierced my own ear a couple years back... and now i have something that looks like a blood blister on both the fron and back of my ear lobe, i'm just wondering if it'll hurt to have it cut and drained, or if u know somewhere i can go in Everett that takes my medical, i'm on Disability Lifeline through DSHS, anyways if u can help me out i would be very obliged, thank you

Hi

Thanks for the query.

Formation of a blood blister at the ear piercing site can be due to infection at the site of piercing or can also be due to allergic reaction to the metal used in your earring. In case, if you are not wearing gold or plastic earrings. I would suggest you to gently remove the earring and clean the area with anti septic solution.
Apply steroid ointment and triple antibiotic ointment over it.
Do cool compresses over the bumps.
Do not lance it as it can cause infection.
Once it resolve you can wear gold or plastic earrings.
In case of no improvement consult a General Physician and get evaluated.
