What Causes Blisters In The Throat Post Tonsillectomy?

I had my tonsillectomy in March it is now June and I m getting clear blisters in the back of my throat up above where my tonsils were. I dont know what brings them on. I noticed the last one as I was watching TV. They bring on irritation and discomfort. There are also blisters where my tonsils were that aren t as clear in color and are larger, but have not given me any discomfort.

hi,

The blister and the congestion could be due to an infection. You may need antibiotics to tackle the infection. Consult your doctor for an evaluation. In the meantime you can take OTC pain medication Ibuprofen. Ensure to take this medication after food to avoid gastritis.

Hope this helped
