Hi, I m just 1 week post op vaginal hysterectomy with laparoscopic help, the healing is ok, still some pain, especially painful bloating, I don t have constipation but I m screaming from pain during bowel movement, is this normal? Yesterday I was wearing first time belly support panties, was so nice feeling throughout the day, but at ev I got very painful belly when I removed the panties. Is this normal? General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to gastritis and bowel manipulation during the surgery. As the first line of management, you can take an antacid like Omeprazole or Pantoprazole for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persists better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
