Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m having some weird stomach issues that include it being very loud and rumbly, I was bloated and painfully gassy a couple days ago, and now I am passing stool that is very watery with a noisy stomach. I m not in any pain and I can eat fine... Should I temporarily change my diet to help get over what is wrong and should I take extra caution in staying hydrated or get any over the counter anti-diarrhea medications?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history having had loud and rumbling stomach with bloating and painful gassy a couple of days ago followed by watery stools; now no pain, eating well and wants to know whether to keep hydrated and change the diet or get OTC anti-diarrhea medicines.. This is definitely enteritis with intestinal infection. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Have a clinical evaluation by a Doctor for abdomen and vitals. Get stool and blood tested. Get a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole, probiotics and activated charcoal. Continue full diet, no need to change.
