What Causes Blocked Ear Sensation?

Last night I was listing to music off my phone with earbud headphones I had the volume to a minimum and in my left ear only well about an hour after stoped listening to music my ear felt clogged I figured we'll see how it feels tomorrow. I woke up with the same thing clogged ear so I used this ear cleaner kit tho no wax came out an it almost seemed worse so I took a Q-tip very lightly I checked inside my ear for anything and it seemed very clean tho my ear still feels really clogged I'm getting kinda worried cause I'm a comercial fisherman so I really need good ears and kinda afraid it could be throwing off my equilibrium and we both know that's not good for the ocean so what should I do doc?

I have gone through your query and understood your concerns.

There are several medical conditions that may cause that symptom, the feeling of blocked ear.
It may be a swollen eustachian tube which is the organ that ventilates the middle ear. A viral infection flu or sinusitis may have caused that. This is the most common reason. Other reasons for that problem may be change of pressure differences in the middle ear and wax in the ear channel. You have to go to your ENT doctor and do the proper examinations.
