What Causes Blood Along With Bowel Movement?

I had some really spice food the other day. Yes it upset my stomach after. Now I m having blood when I have a bowel movement. Is this common (normalish) and just aggravation due to the hot food? I was checked a year ago when I had blood and the doctor said I was fine. I was embarrassed And didn t ask any further questions. Its concerning because of the amount it seems to be. Today twice I couldn t see the bottom of the toilet because of the blood. Anything will help. Thanks.

Hi..Food itself does not cause bleeding from the gut..There are multiple causes..As you have this problem since 1 year..It could be hemorrhoids or rectal ulcer or a colon tumor also..If you are above 60yrs age, you must consult a gastroenterologist as early as possible for colonoscopy..If you have any recent weight loss or constipation , it should be a serious concern and you must get a colonoscopy done as early as possible..Thank you
