What Causes Blood And Mucus In Stools?

Hi, I am 11 weeks pregnant and since I have been pregnant I have been experiencing passing frequent mucus from my bowels. It is also sometimes a little bit bloody too. I have no other symptoms i.e pain, diahrroea or weight loss. Any ideas??

Hi,

I have reviewed your question, passing a mucus secretion in the stool is nothing to do with pregnancy, of course, it should be there and pregnancy, it's simply the co-incidence else it appears to be protozoa infection. Secondly, it can be due to some diet.

Therefore, the very first thing to do is to alter the diet. If the symptoms remain then you've got to discuss this with your obstetrician, owing to pregnancy anti-protozoa medication have to be given with high precaution. Finally, protozoa infection should be confirmed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
